Use your bike and safe lots of money. Parking is expensive in Saalbach Hinterglemm and you have to pay for it on seven days a week unitl 10:00 PM. The park sheriffs are not funny - trust me, I've tried.

Winter is even more favourable. Most of the hotels have direct access to slopes or cable cars. The Hotels Sonnberg, Sommerer und Talblick are located in Hinterglemm and have everything just around the corner. In front of the Müllauerhof there is a bus stop, which brings you fast enough to the next skiing slope.

Bike action with much safety

Protect yourself - that is the motto of the bike circus Saalbach Hinterglemm. Always use protectors for your arms and legs and for sure always wear a helmet. Never go biking without gloves - those of you who have ever experienced a crash without gloves, will agree.

On the trails in Saalbach Hinterglemm which are used by both, bikers and hikers, please make sure that you practise the biker fairplay. Hikers move slower and have been on the trails before us. Be polite, reduce the speed and make sure the "meeting" has no bad consequences.

Safety and protection in winter

If you are skiing in the ski circus Saalbach Hinterglemm, you will probably not be alone on the slopes. If the slopes are packed, make sure you reduce your speed, so you can easily stop at any time. Wear a helmet and if you want to go fast and furious, wear a back protector as well.

If you want to go to the backcountry for some sick powder turns, make sure you carry a LVS-beakon, an avalange-pole and an avalanche-showel. Never underestimate the danger of avalanches and take courses and workshop on safety every once in a while. If you want further information on safety, gear, courses and techniques, go and see the guys from Gumpold Mountain Sports or read our blog. We will keep you updated.
